The series will feature upcoming race days, local events and major Saratoga Race Course highlights, including Opening Weekend, Whitney Day and Travers Day.

Scott Smith Saratoga Horse Racing Enthusiast is launching a new blog series dedicated to Saratoga Horse Racing and the traditions of the Thoroughbred Community. The series will begin with a guide to the 2026 summer meet at Saratoga Race Course, which opens with a three-day Opening Weekend from Friday, July 3 through Sunday, July 5 and continues through Labor Day, Monday, September 7. The 2026 meet will feature 46 racing days, 73 stakes races and 20 Grade 1 events, making it a can’t-miss season for Racing Enthusiasts and longtime supporters of the Saratoga racing tradition.

Throughout the blog series, Scott Smith Saratoga will highlight major Saratoga Horse Racing events and happenings, including Whitney Day on Saturday, August 8 and Travers Day on Saturday, August 29. Known as the centerpiece of the Saratoga summer season, Travers Day brings together elite Thoroughbred competition, racing heritage and the unmistakable trackside atmosphere of Saratoga Race Course.
